Graceville Elementary School
Graceville, Florida
Client: Jackson County School District
Size of Project: 25,000 sq ft
Allstate was selected to complete this great, new K-5 facility consisting of a stand-alone elementary school wing with classrooms and support space located on the existing Graceville High School Campus. The intricate site work / earth work and concrete activities were completed during the summer months at the start of the project enabling us to establish new storm drainage systems and to complete the major structural activities while the campus was unoccupied. The major structural activities, including masonry walls and structural roof systems were completed working from south to north, and moving away from the existing, occupied facilities. This began with the classroom wings followed by the administration spaces and the multi-purpose indoor education space. New life safety systems including fire alarm, emergency power, and fire sprinkler systems were installed along with new stand-alone HVAC systems and electrical services to support the new K-5 wing. The new facilities include state-of-the-art data and telecommunications infrastructure and audio-visual systems needed to support the newest classroom teaching aids. Also included in the project’s scope of work was a new and expanded parking area, as well as separate parent drop-off and pick-up for the elementary school students. At completion of the new K-5 facilities, all public educational facilities for the north western district of the School Board of Jackson County are now in one location.
