Florida Health Care Association is located in Tallahassee’s Downtown Historic District, and constrained by large live oak trees and adjacent downtown businesses and parks. Renovations of existing space addressed ADA accessibility, HVAC / comfort issues, building security, and tenant access control. New construction included a roughly 6,000 sq ft, 3-story addition with conference center, roof top facilities, and new lobby entrance. The conference room was surrounded by storefront. Allstate worked closely with the design team and glass and glazing manufacturers to provide multiple systems to save the project’s costs while meeting the owner’s requirements. These systems were all energy efficient and provided beautiful natural lighting to the conference room and existing office spaces. Special structural foundations, drilled caisson and concrete grade beams were installed due to poor soil conditions. Fire sprinkler systems were installed in the new facilities. Our experienced project management team prepared a detailed plan addressing all project challenges including the constrained site parameters, staging & access, sensitive environmental conditions, and occupied facilities, and easily completed this great project within an aggressive 8-month time frame.
