Apalachicola Municipal Library
Apalachicola, Florida
Client: City of Apalachicola
Size of Project: 3,610 sq ft
Allstate constructed a new library in this historically-quaint, seaside community. We were selected early in the design phase, allowing our team to ensure the budget was maintained by working with the project team to provide value-based options regarding brick, stone, lighting, HVAC systems, doors and windows, and the site work. Cost savings was also recognized through implementation of an owner direct purchase tax savings program. As is always our priority, we achieved 40% local subcontractor participation. The building construction utilized reclaimed, local granite (originally used as ballasts in cotton ships from the 1800s), and heart pine for columns and trim. The site is located near several local businesses and shares parking with a local doctor’s office. Allstate coordinated closely with these neighbors to ensure that the construction process had minimal disruption to their daily activities. Allstate Construction is a good neighbor, caring about each community in which we work.
