Client: The Florida Senate / Florida House of Representatives
Size of Project: Multiple Facility Complex
Allstate first completed the high profile and long overdue renovations to the existing Florida Senate Chamber in the State Capitol Building. Work included the installation of a new planetarium style dome, stained glass light medallion, custom millwork and casework, and upgrades to the lighting and HVAC systems. Many of the systems on the project had not been upgraded since the building was built in the mid-70s and were upgraded to meet current codes and new energy efficiency standards. Allstate was next tasked with the ADA bathroom renovations and upgrades on five floors of the existing facilities: lower and plaza levels, second, third and fourth floors. Next, Allstate renovated three offices suites: one on the 20th floor of the Florida Senate, and two more in the neighboring Pepper Building. We completely renovated the Committee Meeting Room and three separate break rooms at the Knott Building for The Florida Senate. Other general improvements at the Capitol Complex have included the Senate 2nd Floor Appropriations Suite Renovations, a new ADA lift installation, Turlington Building Lobby Renovations, Capitol Building 4th Floor Restroom Renovations, new complex drinking fountains, and new electric vehicle charging stations. Our success with the Senate earned additional work with the House including our several smaller improvements, and the larger renovation of six separate Committee Meeting Rooms including new committee member desks, light fixtures, ceilings, flooring, and AV systems. Since the original Senate Chamber Renovation and the above highlighted projects, Allstate has continued to work with the Florida Legislature. All work has occurred in an occupied, secure environment requiring a significant and detailed safety program including the badging for visual confirmation of approved workforce and vendors accessing the building.
