2020 Terminal Expansion at NWFBA
Panama City, Florida
Client: Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport
Size of Project: 7,267 sq ft
T he terminal expansion at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport provides a 7,267 square foot addition that gives the airport two additional passenger boarding gates including jet-way passenger bridges. The new terminal building was constructed of modular components built off-site, delivered in six sections, and erected in-place on the new foundations systems. One of the two new jet-way bridges (PBB) is an existing unit that will be refurbished and reinstalled. The second unit is new, and will be built and assembled on site. The project includes custom built fixed ramps that connect terminal doors to jet-way bridges, and both units are tied to an existing generator with new transfer switches. Also included are two group restrooms and one family restroom. All new spaces constructed will match existing terminal finishes. The terminal is being constructed on an existing operational and high traffic tarmac with no interruptions to services. All workers were required to pass FAA background checks and a specific airport safety and security classes. All construction material deliveries required approved escorts. The overall project will be completed by the end of July 2020, just 6 months following construction start.
